Recently I was hired to design some wedding programs. I typically like using moo.com for all of my print projects, but this time I went with a local Office Depot/OfficeMax for a couple reasons (they’re now the same company).

Firstly I needed a quick turnaround, and I wanted to avoid a shipping premium for fast delivery. Whenever you’re in that situation, a local printer is a great option.

Secondly, I wanted to have them printed on glossy cardstock, and an online printer typically has a per-copy upcharge for upgraded paper options. Needing 200 copies, that premium would really add up.

Here’s probably the biggest advantage of using a local OfficeMax – I was able to buy my paper of choice for $6 from the store and give them the pack to use at the job counter. With online cardstock surcharges sometimes being up to $1 per copy, going with my local store really helped keep costs down.

Three days later the job was finished and the 200 wedding programs were neatly packed in 2 boxes ready to be picked up, with the whole project coming in under budget.

Final high-gloss wedding programs for Ebi & Sarah

I was referred to Nico by my sister. We really liked his work with my sister’s wedding program. 5 years later, I got engaged and we wanted him to work with us as well.

Nico did an exceptional job gathering all details such as color themes for our wedding (bridesmaids and groomsmen colors) and proof read our wedding messages for the program. In addition, Nico was extremely flexible to work with when we requested certain designs and icons on our wedding program.

The program was printed exactly as the electronic version and had great paper quality as well.

Thanks Nico for taking care of us and doing it promptly!!
