Is the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit worth it?
Heads up!
This is not an affiliate post – I just love this kit and want to share the promo code I received in my email.

This kit has everything you need and more, so read on to find out why it’s so awesome.
What’s inside the kit
The iFixit Pro Toolkit includes:
- 64 steel screwdriver bits
- Jimmy for prying open cases
- Flex Extension for hard-to-reach screws
- 3 kinds of tweezers
- 1 suction cup
- Anti-static wrist strap
- Opening picks
Here’s the thing
You might not need all of these bits and tools. For example, iFixit advertises how the kit even includes a “Gamebit for vintage consoles.” I’ll be honest, I’ve never even heard of that kind of bit, so I most likely won’t be needing it. Are you an Android person? Then you won’t be needing the specialty iPhone bits.
That seems to be the trend with most of the contents of the kit – it all depends on your project’s needs. That said, however, this would be the case with any specialty tool bit kit. It all just depends on your needs.
The budget
The Pro Tech Toolkit from iFixit runs $69.99 when purchased directly from their website. If you are looking for a lower price point kit though, there are plenty of options on Amazon. Because I wasn’t totally sure what I needed for my repair job, I went to my local Microcenter to look over their selection of computer tool kits. They carry the iFixit Pro Kit for $75. I didn’t mind giving the additional $5 to support my local store.
But wait there’s more
This kit has some great things going for it. My favorite part is how the lid of the bit container is magnetic and has small square dividers that form multiple cubbies. This allows for easy storing and organizing of your project’s removed screws. It also includes a variety of useful tweezers, along with an anti-static table anchor for your wrist. All of this is contained in a convenient roll-up canvas. Plus there is a descriptive kit manual and fun sticker sheet included in the box.
The bottom line
With any specialty tool kit, it all just depends on your project’s needs, but if you’re looking for a dependable go-to kit or a good gift for a techie, this checks all the boxes.
